The Meiringen Air Base Command ensures operational readiness of the air force in the canton of Bern and for air police engegements in Switzerland. Together with Payerne., Sion and Emmen, the Meiringen AFB is the most advanced airbase in Switzerland.
Of the approximately 150 employees most work at the Meiringen Military Air Base, others at Bern-Belp Airport and at various communications and command & control installations in the Berner Oberland.
